DHCP in UCD Classrooms

If a faculty member had a laptop which he wanted to take from his office to a networked classroom for use in class, DHCP will allow the laptop to hook to the network in both locations without reconfiguring the computer.

In order to use DHCP in a classroom you will need to have a laptop with an Ethernet card and a 10BaseT cable. In addition, the laptop will need to be configured to use DHCP. For more information on the configuration steps, see Configuring Your Computer for DHCP.
